Dr. Gregory P. Harvey MD, FAAOS, is originally from New York and has practiced orthopaedics in Houston since 1991. He is married and has five daughters. He enjoys running, tennis, golf and skiing.
Dr. Harvey is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon. His private practice of orthopaedic surgery includes a special interest in sports medicine, and in surgery of the knee and shoulder.
In 1979, Dr. Harvey received his B.S. degree from Tufts University. In 1983, he received his medical degree from New York Medical College. In 1984, he completed his internship at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York and then completed an orthopedic research fellowship at New York Medical College. In 1990, he completed his residency at New York Medical College where he was Chief Resident in 1989-90.
Prior to joining Patient First Orthopedics, Dr.Harvey completed his fellowship in Sports Medicine and shoulder surgery at Baylor College of Medicine.
He is a Team Physician for the US Ski Team. He is the former Director of St. Joseph Sports Medicine Center, and the former Chairman of Orthopedic Surgery at St. Joseph Hospital and Kingwood Medical Center.
Dr. Harvey is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Texas Medical School and is subspecialty board certified in Sports Medicine. He has been voted by his peers as a 2014 Texas SuperDoctors® in Texas Monthly and H magazine. He is one of the few surgeons in the country who has been awarded the Subspecialty Certificate in Sports Medicine.
